The White Swan, Harringworth, Northamptonshire
Winners of the Best Pub/Restaurant in Northamptonshire 2009, The White Swan is a much-loved venue surrounded by the beautiful and idyllic countryside in Harringworth. It is ideally located for those who are travelling to Rutland Water or are in the local area admiring the engineering genius of the Harringworth Viaduct.
Housed within a 16th century coaching inn, The White Swan has kept many of the original features intact including the open fire places, lead windows and thatched roof. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and draws diners and drinkers alike in to enjoy a pre or post meal drink and sample one of the many fine real ales that are on offer. The lounge bar area is packed with charm and character with the exposed brickwork and intricately carved bar.
Proprietors Adam and Gina run the Swan as an independent pub that offers quality seasonal food. The pair have been in the trade for many years and have honed their skills in order to offer a truly memorable experience. The cuisine on offer is British and is seriously high quality. The menus change seasonally to offer dines the best local produce available. You will be spoilt for choice trying to choose from the menu which features mouthwatering creations such as steak, ale and mushroom shortcrust pie, Lincolnshire sausages with bubble and squeak and onion gravy, and slow roasted belly of pork with mash, apple sauce and a thyme gravy. There are always a couple of vegetarian options on offer as well as a fish of the day.
The White Swan also hosts regular feature nights such as the ‘Pie and a Pint night’ on Tuesdays and ‘Steak night for two’ on a Thursday. With offers like this, you have no excuse not to visit this charming and historical venue.

Lovely food and a lovely venue. The selection of real ales was a nice change from typical bottled beers and I highly recommend the steak and ale pie. Absolutely delicious.
